GE HealthCare has appointed Jeannette Bankes as its new president and CEO of Patient Care Solutions. Bankes will take office on May 1, 2025.

Bankes is moving into the role as Tom Westrick retires after over 20 years with the company. He will remain there until May 31, 2025 to support Bankes’ transition into the role.

Bankes touts three decades of experience that includes product management, marketing, sales, regulatory, medical affairs, and operations and manufacturing. She joins GE HealthCare from Alcon, where she was most recently senior VP and president of Global Franchises. There she oversaw pro duct development, portfolio management and commercialization of products across the global surgical, vision care, and ocular health businesses.

Before Alcon, Bankes worked at Boston Scientific and Merck, where she served in a variety of senior leadership positions. At GE HealthCare, she will be based in Waukesha, Wis.

“Jeannette is a proven leader who has diverse and deep experience at publicly traded companies in the healthcare industry,” said GE HealthCare president and CEO Peter Arduini. “We proudly welcome her to the company and are confident that she has the expertise to move Patient Care Solutions forward and deliver on our precision care strategy.”

Last week, the company announced its membership in OR.NET e.V., an organization that aims to advance device integration and interoperability in medical technology.
